Bhakhri
Bhakri is basically a flat bread. Making bhakri is easy and quick. It can be made with or without flavor. When I make bhakri to go with subji or curry, I make simple salted bhakri. However, for tea time, I make bhakri wih different flavor such as methi(Fenugreek leaves), tuvar(pigeon peas), matar(green peas), fresh dill(suva bhaji), palak(spinach), dudhi or lauki(bottle gourd).

Prep. Time: 5mins

Rolling/Cooking Time: 8-10mins

Ingredients:

1 cup wheat flour (little thicker as compare to roti flour),
5-6tbsp oil,
warm water for making a dough,
Salt to taste.

Direction:

Mix the flour with salt and oil in a shallow bowl.
In the flour, pour the water and start mixing knead to tight dough.

Divide the dough into seven equal portions and make balls.
Flatten each with a rolling pin into a round disk.
Place the bakari on hot pan-clay tavdi (tawa).

When half cooked on one side, turn it to another side and cook it in low flame.

When fully cooked on another side, turn it to the first side again and let it cook fully.

Add 1 tsp oil and bake bhakri with oil till it gets golden brown. Skip this step if you want to bake bhakri without oil.

When done take off from pan.
Serve hot with curry.
