Ingredients
Falooda sev – 1 packet
(looks like yellow thin noodles – it is a kind of noodle – available in indian stores…)
Cold/Chilled milk – 2 – 3 cups
Subja/Takmuria – 1 tbsp
(It is basil seeds. The seeds are also known as sabja, subja, takmaria, tukmaria, or falooda seeds.)
Rose syrup – 1 cup

(Sharbat Rooh Afza bottle)
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

Few ground almond and pistachios for topping

Vanilla ice cream – 1/2 ltr
Whipped cream can (optional)
Cherry – 10 nos(optional)

*You can buy Falooda Sev, Subja/Takmuria and Rose Syrup from any North Indian Store

Preparation Method
1)Cook falooda sev as per instructions on the packet or cook it in a vessel covered with water.

2)Once it starts boiling, wait for 4 – 5 mins, drain and keep aside.

3)Soak cleaned basil seeds in 3 cups of water for 30 mins by the end of which, the seeds will turn into big sticky seeds.

4)Drain the water in a colander.

5)Chill in refrigerator which is optional.

Now, if you want to make in ahead of time follow this instruction:

In a big bowl, pour milk, add rose syrup and sugar if needed.

Add cardamom powder, Tukmaria, and sev and mix well.

When you want to serve take a glass and pour prepared milk.

Top with icecream and some almond pistachios.

 

Other way of making Falooda:

6)Arrange the glasses in which the faluda is to be served.

:- Looks good on long glasses or long white wine glasses.

7)Add 2 tbsp of sev.

8)Top with 1 – 2 tsp of basil seeds.

9)Pour 2 tbsp of syrup on top of that.

10)Tilt glass a bit and pour milk to 1/2 level, carefully.

:- Do not disturb the base layers, while pouring.

11)Top with 1 – 2 scoops of vanilla icecream.

12)Add whipped cream on top.

13)Pour little bit of rose syrup on top and place a cherry on top of that.

:- Serve with long handled spoons and straw.

:- Add more Rose Syrup, for getting desired sweetness.
:- Takmuria seeds form an excellent intestinal cooling agent in the summer season
