Direction:

Boil 11/2 cup of water in one pot. Take another pot and heat 2 tbsp oil.

When oil is done, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add boiled Pigeon or green peas if adding.

Let this peas cook little bit. While that is cooking, take flour into bowl, add 4-5 tbsp oil and yogurt.

Other spices can be added into flour as well and mix flour, oil and yogurt very well.

Now while water is boiling with pigeon peas, add flour mix and let it cook again till it gets hard enough to make balls out of it.

When hard enough, turn off the stove and let it cool.

When warm or cool enough, make flat balls and steam in the steamer or pot about 15-20mins.(When you steam, make sure that there is enough water at bottom)

Serve with chutneys or give it a tadka and cook in the pan till little golden brown and serve.
