Ingredients:

mix dal-split moong dal,red masoor dal,urad dal,channa dal -(all mix 1cup) tuvar dal can be added too
Onion finely chopped-1

Tomato finely chopped-1
Ginger-garlic, green chili paste-1tsp each
Few Fenugreek(methi) leaves chopped(Optional) or Vadi
Oil for tempering
A pinch of asafoetida

Curry patta

Mustard and cumin seeds
garam masala-1tsp
Red whole chillies-2(optional)
Turmeric powder(haldi)& salt according to taste
Lemon juice

Fresh Cilanto finely chopped

Direction:

Soak daals for 2hours(it will cook faster)
Add oil or butter in pan(kadai), when hot add mustard(rai) and cumin seeds(jeera).

After seeds crackles add asafoetida and curry patta.

Add chopped onin,cook till little golden in colour. Add vadi or methi leaves.

Add chopped tomato,cook till it melts. Add ginger, garlic, green chili paste ,fry for 2-3 mins
Add chopped methi leaves(if not using vadi), turmeric powder.
Add daal with water, salt and garam masala. If you need to add water later, always add hot water.
cook for 8-10 min or till daal is cooked perfactly.
eat daal with rice, rotis or parathas.
